It all began with wanting to make data useful for people.
I’m Paarth Malkan.
I started my career in political consulting, where I saw how few people across the public space felt comfortable using technology or data. That realization pushed me to study data science at Columbia University — not to chase the latest tech trends, but to bring practical, human-centered data skills into the public sector.
Data isn’t just numbers; it’s a way of understanding how people, systems, and decisions connect.
Today, through Ona Analytics, I help public agencies make sense of their data — using analytics and AI to uncover insights that support fairness, efficiency, and better decision-making. My work is about helping people use technology with confidence — and creating solutions that make a real difference.
